Senior Analyst, Tax

Made up of smart, perceptive professionals with a flair for domestic, international, and sales & use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this group run deep. You have a few years of experience in this field and extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to technology & media companies. While this team doesn’t give individual tax advice, you make it easy for the company to get what it needs to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating their tax processes and systems and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you’d be joining a diverse group of hyper-talented professionals with global accounting and finance expertise that’s supported by an incredibly strong leadership team. This position reports directly to the company’s Sr. Manager of Tax Reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Assist with the preparation of supporting schedules for tax-related disclosures including financial statements.
- Analyze and reconcile tax account activity.
- Prepare provision-to-return reconciliations and monthly cash flow analysis for income tax payments and refunds.
- Prepare memos to document tax impact of transactions and positions taken by the Company.
- Monitor tax legislation and financial accounting standard updates, planning for the potential tax impact on the Company.
- Review and update the Company’s uncertain tax positions.
- Assist with the calculation of permanent and temporary book-tax differences.
- Assist with effective tax rate and cash tax payment forecasting process.
- Provide support with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 internal controls related to tax department processes.
- Prepare calculations to support U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Calculate federal and state estimates and extension payments.
- Communicate with co-sourced tax preparer regarding information requests, review comments, and deadlines.
- Respond to notices from federal and state tax authorities.
- Complete special projects as required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 2.5 years of related public and/or corporate tax experience.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with income tax compliance and income tax accounting reporting under ASC 740.
- Working knowledge of tax forms and processing.
- Experience working with accounting principles, software, and databases.
Preferred qualifications:
- Big 4 Public Accounting background.
- CPA or progress toward the certification.
- Experience working with or within a public company.
- Experience in a Technology, Media, or Telecommunications environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
