Tax Manager

Made up of smart, perceptive professionals with a flair for domestic, international, and sales & use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team run deep. You have several years of experience in this field and extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to technology companies. While this team doesn’t give individual tax advice, you make it easy for the company to get what it needs to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating their tax processes and systems and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

As a Tax Manager, you’d be joining a diverse group of hyper-talented professionals with global accounting and finance expertise that’s supported by an incredibly strong leadership team. This position reports directly to the company’s VP of Tax.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of global quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with US GAAP for a publicly traded company.
  • Facilitate and manage preparation of the complete Federal, State, and Local income tax compliance workflow (Corporations & Partnerships) using ONESOURCE Income Tax.
  • Work collaboratively with other Tax Department team members to ensure accurate calculation and reporting of US taxation of International Operations (e.g. GILTI, FDII, FTC, etc).
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and experience in the use of ONESOURCE Tax Provision and ONESOURCE Income Tax systems.
  • Manage the direct tax controversy process which includes reviewing and responding to notices and liaising with auditors.
  • Coach and develop staff to build a supportive team that encourages constant learning and career development.
  • Monitor international and US legislation to assess implications on the existing structure, as well as to develop viable alternatives where changes in tax law impacts the company.
  • Manage compliance efforts for SOX 404 relative to all tax function controls & documentation.
  • Assist with the analysis of Federal, State & Local, and International tax planning efforts, including the identification of issues, proper structuring, and implementation of effective tax strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of related public and/or corporate tax experience.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with income tax compliance and income tax accounting reporting under ASC 740.
  • Working knowledge of tax forms and processing.
  • Experience working with accounting principles, software, and databases.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Big 4 Public Accounting background.
  • CPA or progress toward the certification.
  • Experience working within a public international company.
  • Experience in a Government Contracting, Defense, or Technology environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
