Senior Associate, Tax

Made up of smart, perceptive professionals with a flair for domestic, international, and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team run deep. You have a few years of experience in this field and extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to technology companies. While this team doesn’t give individual tax advice, you make it easy for the company to get what it needs to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating their tax processes and systems and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

As a Senior Tax Associate, you’d be joining a diverse group of hyper-talented professionals with global accounting and finance expertise that’s supported by an incredibly strong leadership team. This position reports directly to the company’s VP of Tax.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and quarterly estimated and extension payment computations.
- Support the Company’s corporate income tax provision process for compliance with US GAAP/SEC reporting as required by ASC 740.
- Coordinate closely with Tax Accounting and Reporting team to assist in timely and accurate preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision and related disclosures.
- Assist with federal and state income tax audits, as necessary.
- Assist in timely filings of monthly, quarterly and annual non-income tax filings.
- Research developments in tax law to determine appropriate tax methods and identify tax savings opportunities for the Company.
- Support various special projects and assist with ad hoc tax assignments as needed in all areas of tax, including assistance with research & development studies, oversight of the fixed assets tax ledger and depreciation program, tax notice correspondence, etc.
- Directly support the VP of Tax and Senior Tax Manager, and work closely with cross-functional team members to help them optimize their performance by providing financial and operational information and analysis.
- Collaborate with other departments and/or clients on special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of related public and/or corporate tax experience.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with income tax compliance and income tax accounting reporting under ASC 740.
- Working knowledge of tax forms and processing.
- Experience working with accounting principles, software, and databases.
Preferred qualifications:
- Big 4 Public Accounting background.
- CPA or progress toward the certification.
- Experience working within an international company.
- Experience in a Government Contracting, Defense, or Technology environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
