Senior Accountant, Renewables

As a Senior Accounting Associate, you’d be joining a diverse group of uniquely talented professionals with renewable energy and technology expertise that’s supported by incredibly strong leadership. This position reports directly to the company’s VP & Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting & finance related functions for all legal entities in a robust portfolio of energy assets.
  • Ensure IFRS & GAAP Financial Reporting at the Portfolio level, and ensure compliance with Tax Equity, Lenders, and Parent-level reporting.
  • Conduct Portfolio-level analysis, comparing actual results to prior year and budget.
  • Provide support for Portfolio-level audits; assist in drafting footnotes for audited financials.
  • Coordinate with the Commercial Asset Management and Operations & Maintenance teams on the company’s operational activities.
  • Review Portfolio-level invoice accounting and monthly pay runs (AP aging, AR aging, etc).
  • Review AR invoices before issuance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support Portfolio-level cash activities, including contributions, distributions, inter-company settlements, and debt service.
  • Provide Tax support, assist in the preparation of HLBV & tax returns.
  • Understand all major contracts for portfolios and the related accounting considerations.
  • Document key significant transactions in accounting memos.
  • Provide accounting support for budgets, tracking models, etc.
          • Become cross-trained in other areas of the Department as necessary and willingly work in different areas as assigned.

          Qualifications

          Minimum qualifications:

          • 3+ years of public and/or corporate accounting experience.
          • BA/BS in accounting, finance, or related field.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication, experience presenting analyses to management, and ability to drive key initiatives.
          • Ability to comfortably interact with senior-level client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefings.

          Preferred qualifications:

          • Big Four Public Accounting Experience a plus.
          • CPA license and/or progress toward the certification.
          • Experience in a Renewable Energy, Commercial Real Estate, or Technology environment is a plus.
          • Desire and passion for learning, professional growth, and development.
